Lantana the Longhorn beauty!

Green Smoothie Love :)
Today I had:
44oz OJ
1.5 Large Canary Melon from the farmers market (these are the absolute BEST)
1/4 Medium watermelon
3 spiralized cucumbers with grape tomatoes, basil, and lemon juice
83/9/7
1453 cals
*No exercise today. I had the day off, slept in until 11 and then layed in the sun for 3 hrs :)
.
Today I had some really great conversation with a practitioner I am doing some spiritual energy work with. I won't go into detail just yet, I'm still filtering through all this new information. I am definitely on the verge of a huge emotional breakthrough. Everything has been building up to this point and I am both scared and excited for all the changes I can feel on the horizon. I've sensed something coming ever since I went raw and now it's slowly manifesting... Astrologically, I am in Saturn which means it's time for major change and upheaval. It's hard to put into words but perhaps, as I gain more clarity, the words will come more freely.
I believe that 811 has helped to clear a path for this emotional work to really begin.

811 - Days 9-11

This is the Key Lime Birthday Pie Banana Man made for me. I was delish!!

Blowing out the candles...

The Birthday girl with a delicious Durian popsicle! They got them from the Asian Market and apparently they have FRESH (not frozen) Durian every once in awhile! Our friend said she would call us when they are available. :)
My Birthday weekend has been a whirlwind so I haven't been tracking my food intake. I did have some cocktails on Saturday and paid the price the next morning, well, actually all day...
I just feel so increadible on 811. I don't want to do anything to break that high.
I've got lot of crazy, blow-your-mind, out of this world stuf coming up. Crazy energy work, more details later.
Today I had:
32oz OJ
Salad: romaine hearts, red & yellow bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, okra, and celery
*Walked 1 mile and ran 1mile

811 - Day 7 & 8

Day 7: My Birthday!
32oz Orange Juice
1 Cantaloupe
Fruit Salad: mango, white peaches, raspberries, nectarines, black grapes
Okra with tomato and lemon juice on a bed of arugula (I'm obsessed!!!)
84/9/7
1688 cals
*4mi Loop: 2mi run, 10 min water/walk break, 2mi run

Day 8:
1 Cantaloupe
2 Bananas
32oz Orange Juice
Okra/Tomato/Arugula - I think I love this combo so much because everything is from our local farm and so unbelievably fresh, fresh, FRESH!!
Tonight no exercise. We went to a friends house and ate dinner to celebrate my B-day. I made a fabulous fruit salad and Banana Man made me an amazing raw Key Lime Birthday Pie from the Cafe Gratitude book. It was really yummy! I was so proud of him, he did a wonderful job! I have no idea where my total cals ended up for the day. Before dinner I was at 85/10/5 and 1045 cals. I'm sure the Key Lime Pie threw me off but it was a special occasion so no harm done :)

811 - Day 6

Large Fruit Salad: 1 pineapple, 4 nectarines, 1/2 pint raspberries, 4 cups black grapes
1/5 large Watermelon
1 Romaine heart
2 bananas
16oz coconut water
87/8/5
1436cals
I was a little short on cals today but I felt GREAT! I went for a 2mi run and stayed at a pretty good pace. I need to get a watch so I can track my split times. After I was done I thought to myself, 'should I do it again?' but it was getting dark so I decided to call it a night.
I can't even begin to express how much my mood has changed in the past 3-4 days. I was feeling so aggravated, annoyed, and grumpy before! Poor banana man was taking the brunt of it. He's so supportive, he never gets mad, just lets me go through whatever I'm going through and hangs on until I snap out of it. He's such a great guy, probably the only guy who would put up with me and my attitude!
Anyway, the point is I feel like 80/10/10 has just snapped me right out of my funk! It's not just the food, it's also the emphasis on sleep, sunlight and exercise that are a vital part of the program. Last year 80/10/10 just seemed so extreme and impossible. I lasted about a month (I wasn't doing it right) and then I gave up. This time around everything makes sense and I feel like I am really thriving. I haven't felt this way on raw for quite some time now. So I am genuinely excited to see how things evolve from here!

811 Food Log - Day 3, 4 & 5

This is a yummy watermelon gazpacho I made earlier in the week

Day 3:
Golden Raspberries
Figs
Grapes
Cantaloupe
Small Salad - romaine, red pepper, celery, cherry tomatoes, spiralized beets, pistachios and squeezed lemon as dressing
Okra
Anti Pasta from yesterday - so yummy!
*3mi run, 1 mi walk
82/8/10
2058 cals
The run was challenging as I haven't run in AGES but it felt GREAT to run in the heat! I am definitely feeling motivated to really start a serious exercise regimen again!
.

.

Figs
Okra
Large Salad - same as yesterday w/out pistachios
2 Nori Rolls - same ingredients as salad with 1/2 avo
*1mi walk
75/11/13

I need to pay attention to food combining. I sometimes under eat my fruit meals and then get hungry a couple hours later and I'm eating all kinds of combinations....
The moral of the story is to pay attention to your body and what it thrives on!

Day 5:
1 Cantaloupe
Watermelon slices
2.5 Quarts OJ
Coconut water
2 Mangoes w/ 1/2 pint Raspberries (yummm!)
Huge Salad same as the day before but sauerkraut instead of spiralized beets
*2.5mi walk
82/7/11
2119 cals
.
Terrible cramps early in the day today. I usually don't have any PMS symptoms so this was unusual but I felt much better after my walk. I layed out by the pool for about 3 hrs, read Sarah's blog, and watched some fantastic videos of Dr. Graham and Rozalind Gruben on you tube. I highly recommend watching these!!

Food Log - Day 2

Check out Dr. Hulda Clark's Book 'A Cure for All Diseases' I read it in 1 week. Her philosophy concludes that all disease is caused by two things; environmental toxins that accumulate in the tissues (ie household cleaners, charbroiled meats, leaching plastics, ect) and parasites. After my little parasite experience I am really interested in this! She also did groundbreaking work on object frequency. She found she could actually measure the frequencies of difference viruses, bacteria, parasites, and toxins. Her frequency work has lead to today's various zappers, but more about that later...

Here's what I ate today:
Figs
pineapple parsley juice, of course ;)
apple lemon ginger juice
watermelon
red grapes
okra
Sarah's easy peasy Anti Pasta Recipe, yumm!! (Thanks Sarah!)

.84/9/7
1934 cals

.Things are going well. I'm glad I love juices because they help me get in the extra calories I need for the day! I feel fine, I woke up a little easier this morning which is nice because I have been really struggling in the mornings! I feel a little bloated at times but over all I feel good!

.Tomorrow I'll do a short 2mi run.

80/10/10 Food Log

Since I am experimenting with 80/10/10 I thought I would track my daily intake and percentages. I really want to give this a serious effort so I am using fitday.com to calculate my intake. I love the way I feel eating mostly fruit! It's just so nice and simple and everything seems to just "click" for me.
.
I have a new obsession with okra. I just can't get enough! I slice it into horizontal slices and eat it with lemon juice. I am still transitioning so I sometimes add a pinch of sea salt and nutritional flakes. I know, I know, salt is definitely NOT part of the program but I am having less than 1/4 tsp per day...
.
Today I had:
pineapple parsley juice
figs
apricots
okra
asparagus
mixed green salad with 1/2 avo and celery - lemon juice, pinch of salt, and nutritional flakes as dressing
.
82/9/10
carbs/protein/fat
1803 cals
.
I'll try tomorrow to eliminate the salt and nutritional flakes :)

Enchanted Rock

Here are some pictures from our most recent adventure to Enchanted Rock.
It was very hot, over 100 degrees!

Enchanted Rock is very steep and gives quite the work out! All the rock is pink granite. In the evening the rocks sound like thunder - supposedly from the heat of the rock clashing with the cool night air. The natives thought the sound was coming from the Gods, thus the name Enchanted Rock.

The steep climb
.
Banana Man and I harvesting some cactus fruit - also known as prickly pear
.

If you look very closley you can see Banana Man and I to the left at the base of the rocks. It gives some perspective at how massive the granite rocks really are!
.
.
After a 4mile hike in the sweltering heat. We had yellow watermelon for Banana Man's dad's 60th B-Day, happy Birthday Steve!
I felt really good physically. I thrived on 2.5 quarts pineapple/parsley, lots of grapes, yellow watermelon, and when we got home I had okra (my new fave food) with lemon juice and simple nori rolls - so delish!

Say hello to my little friend

Hello all! Sorry for neglecting you for the past month! I've been busy cleansing, swimming, eating fruit, and enjoying summer!
.
I'm sure you are all curious about my friend here.
.
During the month of June I was battling the most intense cooked food cravings I've had since going raw. I was actually eating cooked foods several times per week. I couldn't help it - I had to have cooked food! Something was wrong, I felt moody and out of balance but I thought maybe something was wrong with me as a person. Maybe I was just a failure.
.
I was discussing my situation with a co-worker and she said 'maybe you have parasites'
Oh my goodness, Duh! Why didn't I think of that?!
.
So I asked one of our practitioners to test me and sure enough - PARASITES.
Specifically, flukes, the bugs that most commonly live in the liver/gallbladder/pancreas/spleen. So I started my cleanse using paracidin and gallbladder complex.
.
As a side note, I did this cleanse last fall with out any problems.
.
About mid-day on day 8 of the cleanse I started to get hot and cold flashes. I felt terrible. My skin was extremely sensitive to the touch. I had no idea what was going on. I worked with a co-worker to align my gallbladder meridians but to no avail. I felt like crying and passing out at the same time. By the end of work I felt like I was dying. I had to really focus on not falling asleep on the drive home. When I finally did get home I immediately collapsed onto my bed and started sobbing. I fell asleep about 2 seconds after that.
.
I woke up around 11:45pm burning hot. Banana Man was worried about me and we took my temperature - 102.1
.
I knew I had to do an enema asap to get the fever down and sure enough, it went down to 101. I went back to bed and woke up in the morning with a fever still around 100. I hadn't eaten anything in several hours so what came out in my morning enema was very clear! With the first flush I expelled a ball of mucous about the size of half a golf ball. With the second flush I expelled what you see pictured at the top of the page. A big ass worm. He was dead of course. I still felt so terribly sick that I didn't feel disgusted. I just was like 'wow, so you're the little guy causing all the trouble.' I would guess that he was about 6-7 inches long when fully stretched out. He was clear so you could even see little sections of food that he had eaten. By the end of that day my temperature was back to normal and I have felt fine ever since. I still have days where I crave cooked food but not as intensely as before.
.
What a journey indeed. I've passed more mucousy stuff and what appeared to be another worm in one of my morning bm's. I still have more cleansing to go and probably more parasites to expel...
